About the Deepak Group

Deepak Nitrite and Deepak Phenolics are the two enterprises which comprise the Deepak Group. Deepak Nitrite is a 510 million US$ enterprise, specializing in the manufacturing of chemical intermediates. Deepak Phenolics is a leading producer of Phenol, Acetone, IPA and AMS. Inspired by the vision of "Make in India", their import substitution model helps India reduce its dependence on foreign products.

By adhering to the highest standards, the group offers high-quality products to domestic and international markets. As their tagline ‘Responsible Chemistry’ suggests, they have a relentless commitment to sustainable practices, protection of the ecology, and the safety of their employees.

Challenge

Unfinished brand metamorphosis

Deepak Nitrite desired to showcase its potential, and transform from a humble, regional player to a promising enterprise, equipped with the best practices and highest standards. And, when they approached Huestorm Design Studio, they were faced with another challenge- a logo revamp had led to a misalignment in corporate branding and communications, and the brand transformation hadn’t happened on all levels. Plus, Deepak Phenolics was in the works. It was vital to ensure consistency in all brand assets to attract investments and make this new project a success.

Solution

Getting the Basics Right

The first thing Huestorm did was to brainstorm with the senior management of the company.
The core offerings of the company had to be incorporated into the 360-degree branding strategy that we were tasked to create.
After this immersive brainstorming, we decided to transform Deepak’s primary brand asset, their website. We went on to redesign their corporate communication collaterals, and other smaller but impactful brand avenues, like their facilities and vehicles.

Having a well-defined and aligned branding methodology at all levels aided Deepak's efforts to venture into the Phenolics space. Investors now had a clear idea of Deepak's potential, and resonated with its mission to manufacture Phenolics in India and combat over-dependence on exports.

The website is at the heart of Deepak Nitrite’s brand identity, and an accurate and coherent expression of the brand, the products the company sold, the values of corporate compassion and sustainability it practiced, and its CSR undertakings were represented through immersive research and coordination with the company.

Other brand avenues

The new branding strategy and logo needed to percolate to the minutest components of the company. And an exhilarating journey was embarked on. Huestorm designed business cards, letterheads and envelopes. We also got deeply involved in designing smaller, but equally important brand assets, like the trucks used by the company , stickers for the buses employees came to work in, and the main gates and signboards of their facilities.
